We are very pleased to inform you about the participation of Ashley Hans Scheirl and Rosemarie Trockel at this year’s La Biennale di Venezia.
Ashley Hans Scheirl and her partner Jakob Lena Knebl will be exhibiting in the Austrian Pavilion. Under the title The Invitation of the Soft Machine and Her Angry Body they present a walk-in, multimedia, hybrid art cosmos that addresses the intertwining of power structures in the post-neoliberal social and world order. The military, politics, the pharmaceutical industry, oligarchy, fashion, greed, excess, ans the old financial as well as new tech capitalism unite in a surreal, exuberant orgy of opulence, in which everything mixes with each other and continues in a permanent transformation of madness.
Rosemarie Trockel is represented in The Milk of Dreams, 59th International Art Exhibition, curated by Cecilia Alemani. Trockel shows old and new wool works, one of many aspects of her multifaceted oeuvre, which has made her one of the most influential and important representatives of contemporary art of the past thirty years.
La Biennale di Venezia will be open from April 23 to November 27, 2022, and will feature a rich supporting program in addition to the national pavilions and the survey exhibition The Milk of Dreams. More information can be found here. →
